Bologna is not Milan, but it is a well-dressed city with a practical approach to fashion. For visitors who want designer or premium brands at reduced prices, there are options both inside the city and within a short drive. Here is where to look, from the most convenient to the most comprehensive.
In the City Centre
Burnin’ Lab Outlet
A multi-brand outlet in the historic centre selling end-of-season and past-collection stock from luxury and designer labels — Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Moschino, and similar names at reduced prices. The stock changes frequently and is not always predictable, but it is the most convenient option if you are already in central Bologna and do not want to travel. Located in Via de’ Giudei. Open Monday–Saturday 10:00–13:00 and 15:30–19:30; closed Thursday afternoons.
Coin Factory Store
Coin is Italy’s largest mid-market department store chain. Their factory stores sell unsold and end-of-season stock from Coin locations across the country, which means a wide and varied selection — Boss, Guess, Valentino diffusion lines, and many Italian mid-range labels at significant reductions. Good for everyday clothing and accessories rather than statement luxury pieces. Hours are generally extended on weekdays; worth checking before visiting as they can vary.

Near Bologna
Fashion Outlet — Anzola dell’Emilia
A smaller outlet in Anzola dell’Emilia, around 15 kilometres west of Bologna. Around 2,000 square metres of men’s and women’s clothing from Italian and international labels. Less overwhelming than a large outlet village and quicker to get around — useful if you want a focused shopping stop rather than a full day out. Reachable by car in about 20 minutes from the city centre.
Castel Guelfo The Style Outlets — 25km from Bologna
The largest and most comprehensive option in the area — over 100 stores including Prada, Gucci, Burberry, Armani, Versace, Tod’s, Furla, and Adidas, with permanent discounts of 30–70%. Best for a full day out rather than a quick stop. Free car parking; a free shuttle runs from Bologna city centre on weekends. Tips for Shopping Outlets in Italy
- Italian sizing: Italian clothes run smaller than UK or US equivalents — check the size conversion before buying, especially in smaller outlets where returns may be difficult
- Sale periods: January and July bring the deepest discounts across all outlets — stock is abundant in January, picked over by February
- VAT refund: Non-EU visitors spending above the minimum threshold can claim a VAT refund — ask the store for a tax-free shopping form at the time of purchase
- Weekdays: Quieter than weekends at all locations, especially at Castel Guelfo

Hi! Great tips! Also… Mantova isn’t too far from Bologna and has a huge outlet mall with all sorts of stores from different brands.
