Pagani Automobili is one of the most exclusive car manufacturers in the world. Based in San Cesario sul Panaro, about 15 km from Modena, it produces fewer than 50 vehicles a year — each one hand-assembled from carbon fibre, titanium, and Mercedes-AMG components by a small team of craftspeople. A visit to Pagani sits naturally alongside the food producers and cultural landmarks that define Emilia-Romagna: the same values of craftsmanship, patience, and obsessive attention to detail run through both.
About Pagani Automobili
Pagani was founded in 1992 by Horacio Pagani, an Argentinian engineer who moved to Italy in 1983 to work at Lamborghini and later set out to build his own car. The first model, the Zonda, launched in 1999 and immediately established the company as a serious rival to Ferrari and Lamborghini in the hypercar segment. It was followed by the Huayra in 2011 — a car widely regarded as one of the most beautiful and technically complex road cars ever made — and more recently the Utopia, launched in 2022.
What distinguishes Pagani from other supercar manufacturers is the scale of production and the degree of craftsmanship involved. Each car takes thousands of hours to build. The carbon fibre monocoque is manufactured on-site. The interiors combine aluminium, leather, and titanium machined to watch-making tolerances. At current production rates, each new model has a waiting list measured in years.
Can You Visit Pagani?
Address: Via Romano Caselgrande, 1, 41018 San Cesario sul Panaro MO
Visits: By appointment only — Pagani does not operate open public tours. Access to the factory and museum is arranged through authorised tour operators or directly with Pagani for qualifying clients.
Unlike Ferrari or Lamborghini, Pagani does not have a walk-in museum with daily public opening hours. Visits are exclusive and limited in number. The experience typically includes access to the Pagani Museum (displaying historical models and prototypes), the carbon fibre workshop, and the assembly area where current models are under construction.
Because of the limited access, a visit to Pagani requires advance planning and booking. We can arrange this as part of a wider Motor Valley itinerary from Bologna or Modena — contact us to discuss availability and group size.
How to Get to Pagani from Bologna and Modena
San Cesario sul Panaro is approximately 15 km south of Modena and 45 km from Bologna. By car from Modena it takes around 20 minutes; from Bologna around 45 minutes. There is no practical public transport to the site. The options for visitors without a car are a taxi, a private transfer, or an organised tour that includes transport.
Pagani, Lamborghini (Sant’Agata Bolognese), and Ferrari (Maranello) form a triangle in the Modena countryside, all within 30–40 minutes of each other. A full Motor Valley day can cover two or three of these stops.
Arrange a Pagani Visit with Transport Included
Access to Pagani is by appointment only. We can arrange the booking, transport from Bologna or Modena, and combine it with Ferrari, Lamborghini, or food producers in the Emilia-Romagna countryside — all in one day.

The Pagani factory sits in the same countryside where Parmigiano Reggiano is made, balsamic vinegar ages in attic barrels, and Prosciutto di Parma hangs in fog-cooled cellars. A well-planned day from Bologna or Modena can combine a morning at food producers with an afternoon in Motor Valley — or vice versa.
Other Motor Valley stops within easy reach:
- Lamborghini factory and museum, Sant’Agata Bolognese — about 30 minutes from Pagani
- Ferrari Museum, Maranello — about 20 minutes from Pagani
- Ferruccio Lamborghini Museum, Funo di Argelato — about 40 minutes from Pagani
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you visit the Pagani factory?
Yes, but not as a walk-in public visit. Pagani Automobili is open by appointment only. Access is arranged through authorised tour operators or directly with Pagani. The visit typically includes the Pagani Museum, the carbon fibre workshop, and the assembly area. Contact us to check availability and arrange a booking.
Where is Pagani Automobili?
Pagani is located at Via Romano Caselgrande 1, San Cesario sul Panaro, approximately 15 km south of Modena and 45 km from Bologna. It sits in the heart of Italy’s Motor Valley, close to the Lamborghini factory in Sant’Agata Bolognese and the Ferrari Museum in Maranello.
What cars does Pagani make?
Pagani produces hypercars in extremely limited numbers — fewer than 50 vehicles per year. The main models are the Zonda (1999–2017), the Huayra (2011–present, in multiple variants), and the Utopia (launched 2022). Each car is individually hand-assembled using carbon fibre, titanium, and Mercedes-AMG powertrains. New models carry multi-year waiting lists.
How do I get to Pagani from Modena or Bologna?
By car from Modena it takes around 20 minutes; from Bologna around 45 minutes. There is no practical public transport to the site. Options without a car include a taxi, private transfer, or an organised tour with transport included. We offer pick-up from Bologna, Modena, Florence, and other cities.
Can I visit Pagani, Lamborghini, and Ferrari in one day?
Visiting all three in a single day is very ambitious and not recommended — each deserves at least 2–3 hours. A more comfortable approach is to choose two stops for one day. Pagani and Ferrari (Maranello) are about 20 minutes apart and make a natural pairing. Pagani and Lamborghini (Sant’Agata) are about 30 minutes apart and are another good combination.
Can I combine a Pagani visit with food experiences in Emilia-Romagna?
Yes — and this is one of the most rewarding full-day itineraries from Bologna or Modena. A typical day combines a morning at food producers (Parmigiano Reggiano dairy, balsamic acetaia, or Prosciutto cellar) with an afternoon in Motor Valley. We can arrange the complete day — food, factory, and transport — as a private experience.
