Padova (Padua) is one of northern Italy’s most elegant and culturally rich cities, located just 30 km from Venice. Less crowded yet equally fascinating, it offers a perfect blend of medieval heritage, Renaissance art, academic history, and vibrant local life.

Highlights of the Walking Tour

The tour begins at the magnificent Basilica of Saint Anthony, a masterpiece filled with artistic treasures — from Donatello’s bronze sculptures to medieval frescoes and refined Renaissance marble works. This important pilgrimage site is both spiritually and artistically significant.

We then enjoy a pleasant walk through Padova’s historic market squares, where daily life unfolds among colorful stalls and lively cafés. The tour continues inside the majestic Palazzo della Ragione, a medieval civic building entirely decorated with frescoes, once serving as the heart of the city’s political and commercial life.

Next, we visit the historic University of Padova, founded in 1222 and one of the oldest universities in Europe. Its ancient courtyard and academic heritage have hosted figures such as Galileo Galilei. Nearby, we stop at the legendary Caffè Pedrocchi, a refined example of neoclassical architecture and a symbol of the city’s intellectual past.
