Historical Background: Located in the very heart of the historical centre of Bologna, this ancient tower has resumed its’ rightful place as a landmark. It has a fascinating history, which you will learn at first hand when you visit; originally the stronghold of the Prendiparte family (Nobles of the city of Bologna) in the 13th century, the tower has had several owners and was even used as a prison during the late 18th century. It is 65 meters high, and composed of a series of rooms, or floors, linked by staircases leading ever upward to the terrace on the top level, offering panoramic views over the city of Bologna.

Prendiparte Today: In addition to providing historical tours of the property, and a superb venue for private functions, the tower now incorporates one of the most romantic places in world to spend a night (or two!), just perfect for a wedding night, anniversary, or other special celebrations. The beautiful B&B suite sleeps up to four people, (but is just perfect for two… you will have the entire medieval tower to yourselves)! The suite is composed of a lounge area on the lowest level, with a bedroom above and a large loft above that, where your breakfast awaits you. The restoration has been most carefully carried out to emphasize the ancient origins of the tower, while still providing the necessary modern touches to make it the most attractive place to stay; the furnishings have been chosen to showcase life in previous, more dignified times, and no effort has been spared to evoke its’ unique atmosphere.

Just one word of caution – there are a great many steps to climb to the rooftop terrace, so it may not be the best choice for those who have restricted mobility. The suite, however, is on the lower levels of the tower and still accessible to most people; if you are in doubt contact Emilia Delizia.

Romantic Options at Prendiparte: Can you imagine a more romantic setting for your engagement or other special celebration? At Prediparte it can all be arranged for you, from a tour of the tower, followed by aperitifs on the panoramic terrace while you watch the sunset over the rooftops and listen to some soothing music, (perhaps a harpist?).
